Matt Bloomfield serves as Vice President of Retail Development for Leon Capital Group (“LCG”) in Florida where he heads up the retail development team in Florida and the Southeast. He is responsible for all aspects of the development process including feasibility, due diligence, acquisition, development strategy, leasing and financing.
Prior to joining LCG, Bloomfield was Vice President of Development for Menin Development, Inc., a privately held owner, developer and manager located in Palm Beach County, Florida. During his time at Menin, Bloomfield was involved in the acquisition, development, and management of 1.7 million square feet of best-in-class retail and mixed-use assets valued in excess of $675 million. Prior to joining Menin, Bloomfield spent 5 years in commercial lending with ING Investment Management and GMAC/Capmark Finance where he closed over $1 billion of financings. Bloomfield also worked on the construction management team of Tishman Speyer Properties at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Mr. Bloomfield holds Bachelor’s Degrees in both Real Estate and Finance from Florida State University as well as an M.B.A. in Real Estate Development from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Bloomfield has served as chair of the Nova Southeastern Real Estate Alumni Association which he co-founded as well as for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Palm Beach County, FL. Bloomfield is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is involved in several non-profit organizations.
